| The University of Toronto's Slowpoke reactor (pictured) prior to its decommissioning process, which was completed in 2001. |
The reactor, directed by Professor Amares Chatt, is designed specifically for neutron activation analysis.
Slowpoke's core runs at a low enough temperature so that all types of samples, including sensitive biological samples, can be activated for analysis.
Updates for the decommissioning of the Slowpoke reactor will be published on this site, including FAQs, the history of the reactor, timelines, contact info and information on upcoming information sessions.
